Knee Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury (“ACL Injury”)

Knee meniscus injury

The knee anterior cruciate ligament is the most important ligament of the knee to keep the knee stable. ACL injury is the most common knee injury, accounting for more than half of all knee injuries. The ACL is important in maintaining stability of the knee and also protecting other structures from further injuries. Common symptoms of ACL include; knee pain, knee swelling and knee instability (buckling). If you've experienced such symptoms, stop and rest and confirm the diagnosis with same-day MRI scan. You may need physiotherapy and anti-inflammatory medications. If the condition is serious, a knee arthroscopic (key hole) ACL reconstruction using either autograft or allograft may be required.

The surgery is carried out with an Arthroscope and surgical instruments inserted through small incisions in the knee. It is usually a day procedure whereby patient can walk and return home on the same day.

Partial (half) knee replacement
Arthroscopy knee cartilage repair/meniscus surgery
Open reduction internal fixation distal radius (wrist) with plates and screws
Image guided nerve root block
Image guided facet joint radiofrequency ablation
