SINGAPORE & MALAYSIA, 15 OCTOBER 2026 – HMI Medical is strengthening its regional healthcare network by introducing refreshed brand identities for its tertiary hospitals in Johor and Melaka. Featuring the HMI Spark and the Group’s signature green and blue brand colours, the refreshed identities strengthen the hospitals’ connection to HMI Medical while building on more than three decades of healthcare heritage and the trust they have established with patients and partners. This alignment strengthens the Group’s brand recognition among patients and partners, providing a stronger foundation for the hospitals’ expansion plans and HMI Medical’s continued regional growth.
Sparking change across four priorities to shape the future of healthcare
The HMI Spark represents HMI Medical’s ambition to deliver More with Care by bringing together four dimensions of total care: physical, mental, social and personalised. These reflect the Group’s commitment to caring for people’s physical health, understanding their mental and emotional needs, personalising care to each individual, and connecting with the communities in which they live.
Formed by four converging “more-than” chevrons, the Spark symbolises HMI Medical’s ambition to deliver healthcare differently by continuously innovating to create better ways to care for every patient. This ambition is brought to life through four priorities:
- More expertise: Strengthening clinical capabilities, specialist knowledge and medical technology to deliver high-quality, personalised care.
- More ways to care: Expanding services, specialties and care settings to address a wider range of healthcare needs, from prevention to treatment and recovery.
- More connected experiences: Connecting expertise, services and care settings to create a more coordinated healthcare journey that is easier for patients to navigate.
- More trusted care within reach: Making quality healthcare more accessible and affordable, giving individuals and families greater confidence in their care choices.

The HMI Spark is formed by four converging “more-than” chevrons, each representing one of the Group’s four priorities.
Ms. Chin Wei Jia, Group CEO of HMI Medical, said the refreshed identities reflect the Group’s response to growing cross-border healthcare demand, driven by population growth and stronger connectivity between Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The HMI Spark represents our commitment to driving meaningful change in healthcare and creating better experiences for patients. Bringing our hospitals and healthcare facilities under a shared identity makes it easier for patients to recognise that wherever they receive care from HMI Medical, they are part of one trusted network, united by the same commitment to quality and care. It also reflects our ambition to work as one Group to spark positive change for the future of healthcare.

Delivering more with care across the region
Alongside the refreshed logo, Mahkota Medical Centre will be renamed Mahkota Specialist Hospital (MSH). The new name emphasises its evolution over more than three decades, with deep specialist and subspecialist capabilities, multidisciplinary care and advanced medical technology. It also reinforces Mahkota’s positioning as a comprehensive tertiary hospital serving patients from Melaka and across the region. With a new hospital block under development, MSH is set to become the largest private hospital in Melaka by 2029, with a total capacity of up to 430 beds.

Established in 2009, Regency Specialist Hospital (RSH) will continue to grow its clinical capabilities and position itself for its next phase of growth to be the largest private hospital in Southern Malaysia, with a total capacity of up to 500 beds, with its newly completed expansion building equipped with a comprehensive cancer centre, next-generation smart wards and enhanced specialist services.

Launched in 2024, Regency Medical Care Centre (RMCC) will also retain its existing name as it continues to enhance its capabilities to become a convenient one-stop healthcare hub with outpatient care services for patients around the region. Planned additions include day surgery, endoscopy and other outpatient services, providing a highly connected patient journey between the hospital and the medical centre.
HMI Medical will also be expanding into East Malaysia with Regency Specialist Hospital Kuching, a 300-bed SMART tertiary hospital, expected to open in 2029.

As HMI Medical expands its healthcare facilities, clinical services and technological capabilities, its people remain at the heart of healthcare. The Group is investing RM50 million over five years through the HMI Malaysia Healthcare Workforce 2030 Fund to support scholarships, education sponsorships and clinical attachments, equipping healthcare professionals with the skills and experience to deliver quality care and meet the needs of patients in Malaysia and across the region.

Shaping the next frontier of cross-border care
The expansions of Mahkota Specialist Hospital (MSH), Regency Specialist Hospital (RSH) and Regency Medical Care Centre (RMCC) and the development of Regency Specialist Hospital Kuching (RSHK) reflect HMI Medical’s long-term investment in clinical capabilities, patient experience and access to specialist and tertiary care, supporting Malaysia’s ambition to become a leading regional healthcare hub.
In 2024, Malaysia welcomed more than 1.6 million healthcare travellers, generating approximately RM2.7 billion in revenue. Reflecting HMI Medical’s longstanding role in serving cross-border healthcare needs, its hospitals in Johor and Melaka have been approved for overseas MediSave use since 2010. They remain the only private hospitals in their respective states with this approval, enabling eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents to use their MediSave savings for approved hospitalisations and day surgeries, subject to prevailing requirements.
Mr. Stanley Lam, Country CEO of HMI Malaysia, said cross-border healthcare is reshaping Malaysia’s role as a regional healthcare hub.
By investing in clinical capabilities, infrastructure, technology and healthcare talent, we aim to strengthen care for the local communities we serve while meeting the growing regional demand. Mahkota and Regency have built strong reputations in their respective markets, including among international patients. With a stronger shared identity and continued investment in our capabilities, we are well positioned to build on these foundations and extend our reach across the region.

Country CEO of HMI Malaysia
As healthcare needs evolve and patients increasingly look beyond national borders for care, the Group will continue to build on its regional experience to help shape the future of healthcare in the region, where quality care is more accessible, connected and personalised to the communities it serves.
