Dr James Tan, Senior Consultant Urologist at Advanced Urology Associates, highlighted that early detection of prostate cancer remains crucial in seeking successful treatment. During the interview, Dr Tan explained that men with a family history of prostate cancer should start to go for screening between the age of 40 to 45, and those without family history can start going for screening in their 50s.
Dr Tan also addressed the fear and hesitation many men feel toward prostate cancer screening, emphasising that the procedure is less invasive or painful than commonly assumed.
