Globally, healthcare environments in every country are evolving rapidly and the same trend is observed in Southeast Asia. Driven by digital transformation and shifting patient expectations, operational agility will enable organizations to adapt effectively while keeping patient care at the heart of their business.
For HMI Medical to innovate and sustain their competitive advantage in today’s competitive healthcare landscape, the organisation is committed to invest and embrace the right innovations to envelope our patients and make them feel cared for. To officiate the partnership announcement with Workday to accelerate digital transformation across the organisation, a kick-off ceremony was organised to gather our internal senior leadership members across our workforce in Singapore and Malaysia, as well as our external system implementation partners. The kick-off event celebrated the official activation of the full suite of workday’s solutions that drives innovation and champions efficiency.
As part of this transformation, HMI Medical will deploy the full suite of Workday’s Enterprise Cloud-based management products through the Workday platform with AI at its core through Workday Illuminate, Workday's next-generation Artificial Intelligence (AI). These include Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Workday Financial Management, Workday Adaptive Planning, and Workday Contract Intelligence, powered by Evisort AI.
With Workday, HMI Medical will enhance productivity and streamline workflows across the organisation, leveraging real-time data and analytics to support talent management and financial management. Beyond HR and finance, teams across the organisation, including executive leadership, legal, and planning and analytics teams, will benefit from a unified, integrated system that drives efficiency and informed decision-making. Workday Illuminate will support HMI Medical in automating repetitive tasks and free up employees’ time for more strategic initiatives. Leveraging AI-driven insights for better decision-making and more personalised support, HMI Medical will be better positioned to attract, grow, and retain top talent.
Chin Wei Jia, Group CEO of HMI Medical, said: “Adopting Workday’s AI-powered tools is a key step in building a future-ready workforce at HMI Medical. With AI, we can use data more intelligently, make faster and better decisions, and respond more effectively to the needs of our people. This agility drives our digital transformation and enables us to keep improving care for our patients and communities.”

As part of the event, a panel discussion moderated by Tan Lee Thong, our digital transformation project director titled “From Vision to Impact – Executive Insights on Transformation”, he raised critical points around the importance of championing change, fostering collaboration, and embedding agility across the organization to deliver lasting operational and cultural impact. Our implementation partners from Deloitte and EZE Cloud Consulting, our financial advisors as well as Workday’s General Manager participated in the discussion to share best practices and successful implementation examples across various sectors.

During the panel discussion, Jess O’Reilly, general manager, ASEAN, Workday, said: “In an industry where agility, accuracy, and compliance are critical, healthcare providers need systems that can keep pace with the fast-evolving landscape. We’re proud to partner with HMI Medical and support them on their digital transformation journey to improve workforce management, enhance the employee experience, and automate manual processes, so employees can ultimately focus more on what matters most—delivering outstanding patient care.”

With Workday’s unified cloud management suite, HMI Medical will gain a comprehensive view of its workforce, financial data, and operations, enabling smarter decision-making and more agile responses to changing patient and staffing needs.
