Men’s Health
Take charge of your health this Movember

Every November, Movember reminds us that men’s health deserves attention, not just once a year, but every day. For men in Singapore, balancing work, family, and life can make it easy to put your own health on the back burner. That’s why awareness and small, consistent actions can make a big difference.
Why men’s health matters
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in Singaporean men. Between 2017 and 2021, there were nearly 7,000 cases, that’s around 17% of all male cancers¹. But it’s not just about cancer: many men avoid seeking help for mental health or urinary issues, thinking they should “handle it themselves”².
These figures highlight the importance of paying attention to early signs, both physical and emotional. Many conditions can be managed effectively if detected early. That’s why regular check-ups, open conversations, and simple daily habits can go a long way in protecting your health.
Tips to stay healthy
- Eat smart: Plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, while limiting processed foods.
- Keep active: Aim for 150 minutes of exercise a week, even brisk walking counts.
- Avoid smoking & limit alcohol: Small steps today can prevent big problems later.
- Watch for changes: Frequent urination, weak urine flow, or pelvic pain shouldn’t be ignored³.
- Talk about it: Stress, anxiety, or feeling low are common. Sharing helps.
Regular check-ups are key. HMI Health screening offers screening packages that check prostate function and urinary health, helping detect early signs of prostate-related conditions. Find out more here.
Make your health a priority
This Movember, take a moment to ask yourself: “How am I really doing?” Prevention, awareness, and a little courage can make a huge difference. Strong men don’t just endure, they care for themselves and the people around them.
Take charge today. Your health matters, and small steps now pay off for years to come.
