Dr Fu obtained her MD from Russian State Medical University in 2009. She pursued her interest in Internal Medicine and obtained her Membership of Royal College of Physicians in 2016. She completed her master of internal medicine at University Malaya in 2018. She received Diabetes Award scholarship from Merck Foundation to study postgraduate diabetes diploma at University South Wales United Kingdom. She subsequently completed her subspecialty training in Cardiology in 2023. She received her Fellowship of Royal College of Physician in 2024.

Dr Fu is a registered specialist in Nephrology and Internal Medicine. She is a fellow of RCP (Royal College of Physicians), member of Malaysian Society of Nephrology (MSN), International Society of Nephrology (ISN), Postgraduate Renal Society of Malaysia (PGRSM), and Malaysian Society of Transplantation (MST).
