Introduction
Dr. Darryl Lim is a Senior Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at the Novena Vascular and Varicose Vein Centre in Singapore. Before this role, he served as the Director of the Vascular Unit at Changi General Hospital and as a Service Chief at the Singhealth-Duke NUS Vascular Centre. Under his tenure, Changi General Hospital’s Vascular Unit was recognized as a regional centre of excellence.
Dr. Lim has a strong commitment to training emerging interventionalists and enhancing the capabilities of vascular units in Southeast Asia. He is regularly invited to travel to regional units to conduct live case workshops and to speak at international conferences.
Dr. Lim began his medical career at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed his General Surgery training with SingHealth. He holds several qualifications, including a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a Master of Medicine in Surgery.
His expertise in complex endovascular interventions was refined during his time at Universitätsklinikum Leipzig under the mentorship of Dr. Andrej Schmidt. Additionally, he is a Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP) accredited by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM).
Since 2015, Dr. Lim has been recognized as a specialist by the Singapore Medical Council and is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Academy of Medicine Singapore.
Dr. Lim excels in all aspects of endovascular surgery- he has performed more than 3000 interventional procedures to date. He treats a wide range of vascular conditions, and has particular interests in the areas of venous and varicose vein surgery, advanced revascularization techniques for peripheral arterial disease, haemodialysis access procedures, and diabetic foot care.
