Dr Chin Koy Nam founded DR. K. N. Chin & Associates in the 1980s, and Balestier Medical Centre/HMI Balestier Hospital in the 1990s. Before joining StarMed (HMI Medical Centre), Dr Chin was a general practitioner with a particular interest in Health Screening, Diabetes and Hypertension at Balestier Clinic & Health Screening Centre.

Dr Chin Koy Nam, with his wife and children, actively participates in overseeing the operations of Health Management International Limited (HMI Ltd). This Singapore-based, publicly listed healthcare service and education provider conducts medical and business activities in both Singapore and Malaysia.

Dr Chin is also the designated doctor of the Ministry of Health for the approval for citizenship and permanent residency in Regency Specialist Hospital, Johor and Medisave in Mahkota Medical Centre, Malaysia.
