Mr Chin Wei Yao is the Executive Director and Chief Corporate Officer of HMI Medical. He is responsible for driving the development of the Group’s healthcare services business in the region through partnerships and strategic investments.

Since joining HMI in 2015, Wei Yao has led various corporate initiatives such as the consolidation of non-controlling interests at Mahkota Medical Centre and Regency Specialist Hospital, acquisition of a controlling stake in StarMed Specialist Centre, and the investment in One Care Medical, one of the largest chains of primary care clinics in Singapore.

Wei Yao started out his career as an investment banker at Credit Suisse in 2007. Prior to joining HMI Medical, he worked for 8 years in private equity and investment banking in South East Asia. His last position was Associate Director at KV Asia Capital where he was responsible for investment execution and portfolio management. He was previously a Vice President at Sindicatum Sustainable Resources Group where he oversaw a portfolio of clean energy investments.

Wei Yao holds a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) in Economics (Honours) from New York University, USA. He is also an affiliate member of the Association Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”).
