Dr Gan See Khem
Executive Chairman and Managing Director
Dr Gan See Khem is the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of HMI Medical.
Since founding the business in 1998, she has been instrumental in spearheading the Group’s business plans. Dr Gan is an active figure in public services. She served as the first female President of Gan Clan Singapore (formerly known as The Gan Clan Association), a non-profit organization with roots that dates back to the nation’s pre-war days in 1926. She was also one of the first two females to become a council member at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1995 and was a former Nominated Member of Parliament.
Dr Gan’s illustrious achievements were highlighted in the Women Entrepreneur Awards 2018, where she was accorded the highest honour award, earning her the SuperNova Women Entrepreneur of Year award. In 2015, Dr Gan also received the SG50 Outstanding Chinese Business Pioneers Award from the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Dr Gan specialises in strategic planning and management during her 15-year tenure at the National University of Singapore. She was also previously on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of South East Asian Studies and Singapore Management University (“SMU”), as well as a member of the International Advisory Board of Curtin Business School.
She holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
