Dr Chong Mian Yoon

Group Chief Medical Advisor

Dr Chong is a registered specialist in Psychiatry, a Professor of Psychiatry (Taiwan) and a leading pharmacoepidemiologist in Asia on psychotropic prescribing behaviour. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and a distinguished fellow of PRCP, with more than 250 publications including peer-review articles, books, and others. In the past, he was deeply involved in many international academic societies and held important positions including President of the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists (PRCP) and Taiwanese Academy of Psychiatric Epidemiology, Secretary General of the International Federation of Psychiatric Epidemiology (IFPE).

Dr Chong obtained his medical degree with Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Taiwan in 1981, and PhD in Medicine at the Institute of Psychiatry (IoP), King's College, University of London in 1993. He received his psychiatric residency training at KMU affiliated hospital (1981-1985), and advanced training in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital (IoP) in London, UK, from 1987 - 1993.
